Hereford Cider Brandy 5 years old is distilled in small quantities (40 gallons of cider to produce four gallons of spirit) in a small, copper, pot still. It is matured in casks of Hereford oak from which it develops a mellow, smooth aroma and flavour usually found in much older brandy.The number and the date of the filling of the cask from which the bottle came is written by hand on each bottle.

The King Offa Distillery is a small, charitable organisation located at the Cider Museum in Hereford which is a fascinating place to visit if you are at all interested in cider, apples and their paraphernalia. Cider Brandy is a drink with a long history. Several hundred years ago along with Herefordshire perry it was sent to London where they both were sold for prices higher than any drinks made from grapes and imported from France. The quality of that old drink is evident in the Cider Brandy from the King Offa Distillery which is again, at last, being distilled in Herefordshire. Another of the traditional drinks in England.
